10/10/20:
Today was awesome. I started off my Saturday morning the right way, coaching my neighbors and playing soccer golf and soccer bocce ball. If haven’t played those, you should. They’re so fun.
Then, my mom and I decided that we wanted to go for a walk down one of the local trails we’ve always driven by but never stopped at. It turned out so much more fun than either of us expected and gave us a new, way more interesting 4 mile loop to do!
After that, we still wanted to fit in some more mileage outside, so we went to the field and while she walked, I shot around some more, finishing with probably the toughest mile I’ve run yet, and one of my worst times: 10:12. It definitely had something to do with the fact that I had already reached 8.0 miles at that point in the day and was super sore from the past days. (Turns out, once you stop kicking a soccer ball everyday, it hurts when you do it again – who knew!?)
Overall, amazing day. So great to get outside and spend the day doing active things! Thanks to all the people participating in the Colorado Trail Challenge who’ve kept me going!
